When Stillwater fishing from either bank or boat many anglers finish retrieving their
fishing flies then whip them off the water and cast them out again. However, raising your rod tip slowly at the end of the retrieve, lifting your flies to or through the water surface can often result in tempting a fish that may be following your flies into taking them. This final part of your retrieve is often referred to as bringing your flies onto 'the dibble' and on some outings it can account for the majority of your catch.
