Scott Mackenzie Wins International Spey Casting Competition

Congratulations to Scott Mackenzie for winning the International Spey Casting competition at this years CLA Gamefair.  Scott had retired from casting competitions seven years ago after winning the CLA event three times and breaking the world distance record. Scott was at this years fair to promote his own brand of DTX fishing tackle and initially only visited the casting lake to watch this year’s international speycasting competition, but was encouraged to enter by the other competitors.  After 12 minutes’ prep on the platform, using one of the Scott Mackenzie DTX Rods in 18ft he made his casts and walked away with the £2000.00!!! The distance was a massive 61yd 1ft in a strong crosswind, taking him 5m ahead of runner-up Ruari Costello.
